I was talking wit a friend the other day about my boys & the way they have been talking & the way they are talking to each other. It has been bothering me for a while now. I've have of coarse been trying to redirect their way of talking to each other but it has just not been working. It is becoming a battle that I feel like I'm losing. Yesterday in my Women's group @ church our pastors wife spoke on family & The gifts we can't buy our children. Of course it was an awesome word & what I felt like I needed to hear. She talked about discipline & what God want us to instill in our children. Now I don't think all t.v. is bad but like my friend & I were talking there is so much negative influence on there even in the commercials. I'm not blaming their behavior completely on the t.v. God has been working with me on my mouth & how I respond as well. But to hear some of the things on t.v. is different when your hearing it out of their mouths & to each other. I know there have been many times I've been embarrassed from something that was said on a commercial or on a program. I know I'm not that old but wow how times, music & t.v. has changed just since I was little. I feel that's why we are having some of the problems with disrespect & behavior issues from children today. I know it's not the whole problem but some of it. We did a bible study on our words last night.

Proverbs 15:1-2 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but harsh word stirs up anger.
The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.(foolishness)

Proverbs15:4-5 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes spirit.
A fool spurns his father's discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.


I am praying for wisdom & praying my boy's will be receptive to God's will for their lives.

Ephesians 6:4
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Thankful

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding: in all your way acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.

I have been praying for wisdom for my son Cory for some time now. Last week God really showed up & worked everything out just like his word promises. I know he will always be there to help me & guide me with all 3 of my boys as long as I submit & allow him to.

Romans 2:28 All things work together for good to them that love God.

I also came across this prayer from the book The Power Of A Praying Parent....

Lord,

I submit myself to You. I realize that parenting a child in the way You would have me to is beyond my human abilities. I know I need You to help me. I want to partner with You and partake of Your gifts of wisdom, discernment, revelation, and guidance. I also need Your strength and patience, along with a generous portion of Your love flowing through me. Teach me how to love the way You love. Where I need to be healed, delivered, changed, matured, or made whole - I invite You to do that in me. Help me to walk in righteousness and integrity before You. Teach me Your ways, enable me to obey Your commandments and do only what is pleasing in Your sight. May the beauty of Your Spirit be so evident in me that I will be a godly role model. Give me the communication, teaching, and nurturing skills that I must have. Make me the parent You want me to be and teach me how to pray and truly intercede for the life of this child. Lord, You said in Your Word, 'Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.' (Matthew 21:22) In Jesus' name I ask that You will increase my faith to believe for all the things You've put on my heart to pray for concerning this child."

I am praying for you Cory today. I Love You & will help you through this. Greater is He who lives in us than he who lives in the world!

Light at the end of the tunnel

I am feeling much better today. All though I do not see a light at the end of the tunnel right now I know that it is there. Jeremiah 29:11-14 says 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity.
GOD is not a liar and HIS Word does not return void. That is so good to know. So I am going to keep going today as much as I would love to get back in the bed & forget all my problems I will stand on HIS Word and go forward with what needs to be done around here today.

Faith like a mustard seed

I am feeling so overwhelmed today. I read my online devotional & here was the scripture in

Mark 9:22-23

23" 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."

24Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

I can so relate with this today " I do believe but I need help with my unbelief" I am so glad we serve a GOD who is understanding & so compassionate. I was then lead to this scripture

Matthew 17:20 (New International Version)

20He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

All I need is faith as small as a mustard seed & He will do the rest. That is awesome to know. Sometimes our situations in life feel much bigger than we can bear. But if we just hold on He will never let us go!

Faithful

Wow I can't believe it's been almost 2 months since I've blogged. GOD has been faithful this week during my devotional time. Well I can't just say during my devotional time HE is always good & faithful. He has been leading me to scripture in PSALM this week. As I was making my coffee he brought to me PSALM 139. Well I am one to second guess myself & I thought maybe he meant PSALM 39. I got on the computer to check my e-mail before I went to my room to read my bible & I received a daily devotion & one of the scriptures was PSALM 139. How faithful is our GOD to confirm the scripture HE gave me. When I read it I was like wow. I love that HE loves each one of us & he shows us how personal HE is.

Strength

2 Samuel 22:31-42

Take refuge & strength in Him today. Whatever you might be going through. It is never to big for GOD. He is our shield & strength. When we do this we will find peace & rest.
